Santa Barbara County ready to vaccinate more community members

By Van DoReynoso, MPH, PhD, Director, Public Health

Thanks to a state-wide increase in vaccine supply, Santa Barbara County Public Health is ready to welcome more eligible community members to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Beginning April 6, all Santa Barbara County residents age 16 and older are eligible to schedule appointments at any of the participating pharmacies, hospitals or health care providers as supply is available. We continue to partner with community agencies and partners to ensure access to vaccine appointments.

All agencies and organizations across the state will be using Blue Shield’s centralized MyTurn platform in the next several weeks. We hope this will make it easier for people to schedule their vaccinations.

All eligible community members can sign up for a vaccine appointment by registering online at the Santa Barbara County Public Health website or by calling 2-1-1 and selecting option 4 for assistance. The County’s call center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
