The State has lifted the regional stay at home order for all California regions formerly lower than the ICU capacity projection. Santa Barbara County, included in the Southern California Region, is projected to be above 15% in the next four-week period, the threshold that allows regions to exit the order.
This action allows all counties statewide to return to the rules and framework of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy and color-coded tiers that indicate which activities and businesses are open based on local case rates and test positivity. Along with the majority of other counties, Santa Barbara County is in the strictest, or purple tier. Tier updates are provided by the State weekly on Tuesdays. Individual counties can choose to impose stricter rules.
